The RF650 Smart Radio transceiver module provides reliable
wireless communications for the transfer of data at Gaussian
Frequency Shift Keying (GFSK), Manchester encoded, RF data
rates of up to 100 kbps. Unique features include 'narrowband'
operation, user channel selection and excellent interference
rejection, and make this module an ideal choice for next
generation applications.
Integrated Encryption
This transceiver functions as a complete radio modem.
CMOS/TTL level serial data presented to the Tx input will be
wirelessly transmitted. The radio signal will be received and
outputted by RF650s in the vicinity set to the same channel
and receiver address. A preamble and CRC are automatically
generated and added to each RF transmission to ensure
reliable communications.
Multichannel 'Narrowband'
The RF650 operates within the 433 MHz band with user selectable channels in 100 KHz steps. The module uses a
crystal controlled design in both the transmitter and receiver
circuitry, which provides 'narrowband' performance which is
far superior to other wideband SAW based designs.
Possible applications include one-to-one and multi-node
wireless links in applications including car and building
security, EPOS, inventory tracking, remote industrial process
monitoring and computer networking. Because of their small
size and low power requirements, the RF650 is ideal for use
in portable, battery-powered applications such as hand-held
terminals and remote sensor data logging.
Smart Radio Evaluation Board
The RF650 evaluation board provides a reliable proven host board for development with the RF650 module. The RF650 module is not supplied with the board. The antenna socket is not fitted, so the board can be used with a range of antenna socket types.
